I was a strange kid...

As a youngster, I was obsessed with sports. But many times, I was just as interested in a team's logo, color scheme, and uniform, as I was in the respective sport they played (is it any surprise I'm into design?). My interest in sports logos led to many of the odd-ball projects I took on as a kid (from creating fake sports leagues with fake teams with fake logos to making a baseball board game with a friend).

One of my favorite projects, however, is still the set of hand-drawn, colored-pencil MLB logos I created in order to keep up with the Playoffs:

These were spread all over my bedroom floor during Playoff season.

As you can see, this set was for the 1999 season (I was 13).

I also made a matching set for the NFL (this time using magic marker). I don't know why some teams are mysteriously missing...maybe I lost them:

Spring/Summer Missions Flyer

Recently finished up a flyer that has all of our Student Ministry's spring and summer missions opportunities all in one place. During design, I kept envisioning the olden days when you would put a bumper sticker from everywhere you'd been on your suitcase/satchel. I kinda achieved this look, and updated it at the same time. I like the end product, fun and eyecatching.

Here is the banner we put up on our website (where you can sign up for these trips):

Sequence Brochure Concepts

Working on a brochure design for the good folks at Swift Creek. The brochure is for a Disciple Now event for youth, and the theme is "Sequence." When I heard Sequence, what came to mind was patterns, geometry, color spectrums, etc. I decided to go that route as I began to design some concepts for the brochure cover.

Here are my favorite ideas I have had thus far:

Wallpaper of the Month: January

It's that time again - time for the unveiling of the (drumroll...) Wallpaper of the Month!

What better way to celebrate the arrival of a new decade than with the lovely "January" gracing your desktop!
